First off I now have to give the bike 1/4 throttle to crank, I used to not touch the throttle. Second when taking off it wants to die down when I put load on the engine. Third from about 2500 to 4000 rpm it wants to misfire and stutter. I don't want to pay Harley all the labor they want for it to sit there a week for them to find it I can make the repairs.I have worked on plenty of cars but I have never worked on a Buell any help would be appreciated. |

Using the info given, my first thought would be lack of fuel - 1/4 throttle to start, low power when adding load . . . Check to see if you have correct fuel pressure. Can't find it right now, but I believe it should be somewhere in the 40PSI range. If so, and the pump can maintain it, then check the rest of the system, including the injectors. Hope this helps, Dave |

Thank you Dave I will check that first do you have to have a special gauge or just like a normal one for checking car fuel pressure. |

According to the service manual you have to drop the swingarm and pull the pump to check the fuel pressure. is there an easier way? |

A normal fuel pressure kit (never used one) should work, depending on the various fittings supplied with it. While fiddly, getting the fuel line off at the fuel pump should be doable. Don't know if such a fitting would come with a standard kit. Might try taking the fuel line off at the fuel rail at the intake manifold. Doesn't really matter which end of the line the measurement is taken at. Hope this helps, Dave |

And my '08 service manual shows fuel pressure should be 49-51 PSI. The 40 PSI number was a wild, and incorrect, guess. Hope this helps, Dave |
