Well, the standard is 7/8", which works out to be 22.25mm. Yes, they are the same for both front and rear.

Probably looking at the same Banke product I've also seen and wondering if it would fit as I do.

I'm trying to make swingarm sliders, but before I start ordering parts I need to be sure of sizes.
Spools come in metric 8mm, 10mm, etc. I'm trying to figure out what standard bolt will fit thru the same hole to meet the coupler on the zinc rod that goes thru the middle of the axle. Make any sense?

Paul,

The axle inner diameters are not the same size front and back on the XB's. I've got a line swing arm and front fork sliders that I sell through Dark Horse Moto. Check out our site at http://home.earthlink.net/~darkhorsemoto/

Ask Darthane what he thinks about his Dark Horse sliders.

Keith, is that as easy to install as it looks? Also, why T-6? Why not nylon or delrin?

Joele,

I came up with the idea for these sliders after getting bumped on the head. I managed to low side my XB on the way to work one morning. What a way to start a Friday!

After getting the bike home and looking it over, I discovered the only damage that was not easy to repair (broken mirror, bent hand brake lever, handle bar slider, etc.) was the scratched swing arm.

It dawned on me that if I had a simple, easy to replace item like the handle bar sliders, the damage could have been minimized.

The first one I designed was nylon:

Nylon Slider

I wanted the design to be clean with no mounting hardware showing. Hi-strength aluminum made this possible as it could be threaded.

Yes, they really are very simple to install. I ship each slider kit with instructions, all mounting hardware, and a small tube of thread locker.

If you have any questions or want to see more photos, just drop me an email at darkhorsemoto@earthlink.net

-=smacks forehead=-

I thought he was referring to the axle bolt size...

...anyways, I love the Dark Horse sliders - they're beautiful (black powdercoat) and took all of two minutes to install.

Thanks for the ideas. I would have purchased some, but the plan was to do it less than $120 front and back. The homemade ones should be about $35 for both.
Again, anyone able to tell me the metric size and standard equivalent for the hole size in the axle?

For a XB12S:
Rear 13/16"
Front 11/16"

Be aware that apparently there were thin wall and thick wall axles made for the rear. I believe I have the thick rear axle.

HAD a Cyclone, was traded for 9SX a few weeks back. Just couldn't resist. Old parts and extras currently on E-bay.
Now have an irrational phobia about CRASHING a new bike, want to take what protection I can get.

Keith,

How soon before you market the combination rear slider/spools that Ortegakid and Al worked on?
(The ones that mount forward of the axle)

Impatiently waiting- xbolt12
