The break light is not working on my S1W not working with the lever or pedal. The first thing I checked was the bulb both filaments were intact. Next I checked the connectors that press against the back of the bulb to make sure they were making contact they were still no dice. I checked the fuses nothing blown. I then swapped out the whole taillight assembly with a known good one. Still no luck. Have considered that the switch may have gone bad, but for both (front&rear) to go out at the same time seems odd. Strangely when I swapped the assembly the pedal worked a couple times then stopped. Any advice or ideas are appreciated. (Message edited by zhen13 on May 28, 2017) (Message edited by zhen13 on May 28, 2017) |

I don't remember my exact symptoms but I had problems on 2 because the bulb was in 180° out. I rotated it half way and all worked. (Stupid autocorrect) I always suspected the incorrect bulb was used. Other then that, there are 3 connectors on the back of the light housing. 12v for normal lighting across 2 and the other should see VDC with brake. DAve (Message edited by DAve on May 28, 2017) |

Your issue is in your wiring or fuses. Find the wire under the seat which comes from the rear, and see if it has juice when the brakes are applied. If it doesn't, trace the wire from the rear brake switch to where it gets power and see if the wire is damaged. (Message edited by harleyelf on May 29, 2017) |
