Got my 99 X1 down for some work at the moment and I'm told that with 130,000 KM (80 odd thousand miles), it's a good idea to change the lifters. Problem is they are listed as obsolete. Which aftermarket lifters are recommended? Any experience out there?

Aren't they just the same as sportster lifters?

Are they the same as the XB? I used the melling lifters from my local autoparts store. Looked identical except for a small difference the size of a hole in a shim, but it's easy to disassemble and move the plate over to the new ones. And I doubt it would really matter anyway. They are the same as the "old style" lifters, that many people prefer to the "upgraded" HD part.

I think I posted all the parts numbers and such over in the knowledge vault.
