Hello all, I wanted to run a quick question by you guys. Every time the bike gets wet as in riding in the rain or power washed, my Gear indicator/speedometer/mileage counter doesn't work?! I don't see anything that could be exposed to the elements. But after couple of days or when dried, it would work again. I also found the part number for the VSS for future reference: Y0394.1AMA (Message edited by Yao on January 31, 2017) |

http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/620275.html you could try taking apart the instrument cluster, drying it out, reseal it, and use an electrical grease to keep water out of the connectors behind the cluster. |

Okay, Solved it. It was the Speed sensor, My cluster works fine, temp, voltage and rpm, just no speed or gear. Pain in the butt as the sensor is no longer available from HD. The old one died despite effort of wrapping the header. I went a step further this time and heat shield the sensor from the wrapped header. I see on e-bay that other buell model shares the same sensor except it's shorter, wonder if you can adapt to 1125. I'll come across it if it ever died again.
