I have mine all pinned and ready to go back together, but.. how do you put it back together? Special tools required? |

Not familiar off-hand with the connector you are dealing with but most AMP connectors you just push the pin in the back until it clicks/locks into place. Usually the connector has a plastic cover on the back that hinges/folds down to allow access to push wires with pins straight in from the back. I looked at that and this is an AMP but different , there is no latching back but it can possibly be accessed that way. My mistake was taking the entire connector apart , putting the pins in their respective place and then trying to slide the whole shebang in through the locking tab. I may as well tried to build the pyramids, I ended up taking everything apart again, reassembling the connector and then inserting the pins using a fabricated tool. My shop manual has 15 pages of connector variations and instructions but not the one I am working with. Also there is a wiring diagram in the book marked "Engine management wiring, all models" well it may be engine management all models but it doesn't include the tach drive wire, that is in another wiring diagram..how perfect The bike runs just fine (no road test yet) and I have a Daytona Twin Tuner to sell on ebay |

A picture would help but it sounds like you got it sorted. |

I got it done but it wasn't pretty, I took a beautifully designed plug system and ,because I had no info on it, took two hours of my day doing what should have taken a few minutes.Well I will know next time for sure. All is well at this point, bike just fired right up, everything works well and no CEL. Weather here is spectacular so I am going to put 150 miles on tomorrow, just riding. |
