By the looks of it, the one in the pic above is a copy as well. Here is a pic of the real one, notice the different style cap screws on the authentic one vs. the one above. Here is the rough craft copy on ebay

May work just fine but explains why the real company had to shut down that area! |

so can you use this on FI? i have one coming, for the price i figured why not. But the thought of the air intake temp sensor just came to mind. Anybody have any ideas on how to get it to work? |

Make a mounting tab that hangs off one of the interior mounting bolts? Just have to figure out how to run the wire. |

Not much surface area there. May result in a fat (too much fuel and too little air) operating condition. |

I don't know. Looks like it has as much area as a stock x1 filter. |

Yeah the stock X1 filter was not so big. I'd wager it won't be too hard to get that to work with FI. You just have to find a nice sneaky place to put that temp sensor. Perhaps up underneath so long as the "business end" is away from the engine and pretty close to the intake air. |

Its not just the size of the filter it is how much air mass can flow through it. If you have a large restrictive filter you can match the input needed with a smaller filter that flows more air. That being said the Chinese ones are most likely restricted air flow. I was told I could not run he tiny filter on mine with the 1250 kit but it works just fine so far. I will be getting a better element.

That sensor needs to be in the air stream, not just near the intake. |
