Hey all, been a long time. Been out of the motorcycle game a few years but now that the kids are older looking to get back in. My favorite bike I owned had to be my 1125r. I am wondering how the 1190rx compares ergonomically. I know it has tons more power and more electronic rider aids but is it a lot more track focused than the 1125r? Should I maybe go for the sx? |

Hi Citified, I own an SX and a friend of mine has an RX, obviously the RX is more track focused ,but I have done track days on the SX ,But we ride together and switch back and forth and regularly ride about 100 miles and both are quite comfortable hope this helps. |

It has sportier ergos but super comfortable. Most keep traction control off or close to it. I went from a CR to the RX and don't do much but a few back roads and city riding. Clutch is stiff. |

Both more comfortable than the 1125. The difference for me is that the seat pan is narrower and/or seat shaped differently, so doesn't wear out the inside of my legs. Other ergos similar between 1125r and RX. SX has nice, upright position if you prefer that. Clutch pull doesn't bother me, and haven't change my '14 SX. |

I accumulated in order a XB12R Firebolt, an 1125R and an 1190RX. Firebolt got a HeliBar upper triple and as a result became a 'forever' bike. My pick of choice if heading out on unknown twistys since it dances better. Then the 1125R was added and I spent a lot of effort trying to get it to feel as good: EBR upper and clip-ons to pull the bars back, offset bars to raise them up and it got reasonable enough that a 6 hour ride was fine. The RX just seems to fit better, feels smaller, tighter/more solid and I personally rank it above the 1125 for feel. I changed to the Motion Pro cables to get throttle slack where I prefer it. Stock I ran out of adjustment before the slop was gone. However, early spring/late fall riding can get the 'engine cold' indication, so it stays in the shed and the 1125 comes out. Only done a demo ride on an SX and it was set up terribly with throttle slack and levers etc, so I'm withholding opinion. But it just appeared too unfinished to me as well. Seating position more closely matched the Firebolt so there's potential there. YMMV |
