Well, figuratively, for the time being, in a little creative memoir from my days in the Army, which is attached. I should have kept that late ’48 panhead, good for a whopping 100 miles before I had to shut ‘er down, disassemble the clutch and wipe the oil from that stack of disks. (FYI… technically, no account from the past can be called non-fiction if it contains dialogue, unless you had a recorder in your pocket. That must come from the authors mind, but the rule is it must remain true to the story, and in that case the genre is called creative nonfiction.) This all happened. I regret I never had the opportunity to make amends for what Jim, still my best friend today, and I did back then. (Here’s the difference, Reep. Had to throw one out here.) ;-} Cap’n Pete

Great read Pete! Always enjoyed the tales, especially Dewey! I passed this on to a few Airborne guys that were active in that era and they really enjoyed it too. | |||
