I bled the front and rear brakes and am still not happy with the results. The pads are fairly new with only around 1500 miles on them. Maybe its just the fact that i have been spoiled by my daytona 675, but I couldn't get the bike to even get close to doing a stoppie (not that I want to do that, but its a good measure for if they are biting hard or not).

Should I go back and re-blead the brake lines, or just accept the fact that the brakes aren't very good? Its been over a year since i have ridden this bike and can't really remember how good/not good they were before I took everything apart...

If the disks have grooves in them then the new brake pads have to set.

You also can zip tie the brake levers and let it stand overnight.
and after that you slowly release them sometimes that helps a lot to get the last air bubbles out!.

i will give the zip tie trick a shot. Can't hurt...I think the pads are settled properly. They are not brand new and i did bed them when i originally installed them.

That's a useful trick to clearing air bubbles. You can always tap on the caliper with a screw driver handle or plastic mallet too if you think there is air in the system, help the bubbles work their way out...

Pad compound is going to make a fairly big difference too.

I like the Lyndall Golds, other's have liked the EBC's (HH?); I wonder if climate plays into their functionality.

Are you using a stock lever?

I am not using stock levers at the moment. I have a set of shorty lever I installed not too long ago. I am happy with the lever feel so far. if I was to make a comparison to how it feels, it travels very similarly to my '14 daytona 675, minus the actual bite in the brakes. I am running EBC pads front and rear. I may just be spoiled by the daytona...

I may try completely new pads in the near future. Part of the problem and my lack of confidence is the fact that both front and rear tires and brakes got covered in primary oil when the clutch cover came flying off during a ride...I cleaned up the rotors, pads, and calipers with brake parts cleaner, but i still may need new pads.

I had a shitfull time getting my system bled when I rehabbed my S1 last year. The rear especially. I ended up removing the whole rear brake system and hanging it from a bench vise. Then I pressure bled it from the caliper back to the reservoir. It was a complete PITA, but it worked.
