Local friend called and asked me to stop over to help him with his X1 Bike starts in Neutral, idles and ect. Side-stand switch has been removed and bypassed. Clutch switch has been removed from the mount, unplugged but the connector has not been jumper-ed. Bike won't start unless it is in neutral. Clutch safety switch needs to be reinstalled or jumper-ed. Correct? Thanks}} |

...or just put it in neutral before thumbing the starter... But yes, you need closed contacts at both the clutch and sidestand switches. |

Why does he feel the need to start in gear? Does it stall in intersections? If the clutch switch doesn't close properly (get an ohmmeter) it needs to be replaced or bypassed. |
