Hey guys, I'm trying to troubleshoot a knocking that has developed in the last 10 miles. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZdFNFgSLJE It's a 2004 XB9 with 30k miles. I've checked/eliminated primary chain tension. I did just flush the primary oil, as moisture got in and turned the fluids white (I've since flushed it twice). I honestly think it's coincidental that these two problems happened at about the same time, but there is the possibility that friction could have shaved some metal, leading to the knocking. I tend to think it would be push rods or bearings, though my father disagreed about the push rods, so I am trying to narrow it down, if at all possible. The knocking is worse when you rev the engine. Thanks for any help/ideas you can throw at me. |

Big end. XB9 cranks do fail , just not as common as 12's. |
