Hey guys, I recently bought my first buell. It's a 2004 XB12R firebolt. A little bit ago the mph side of the speedometer stopped working. The rpm side still works and both needles sweep on startup. I pulled the speed sensor out and cleaned some silvery oil off of it and put it back in. Nothing changed. Today all of a sudden it the mph needle started working again but stopped working as soon as I reached a stoplight. Is the speed sensor broken? Or something else since it seemed to work for a brief period? How do I fix it? |

Have you had a good look at the tiny wires near the connector? No worn through wires? |

It might just need a new sensor. They were problematic on early 03s, but not 04s. Cleaning it might have helped but not enough. http://americansportbike.com/newdir/Item/17188 |
