i have a blast 2000, finally got an exhaust to stay on, stock broke, known for that though.. but small trips- fine.. i bought it with no airbox and it had some cross plumber work on a small pod type air filter. ive replaced that with a larger cold airintake air filter on with metal straps. the carb is held on quite well with a bolt on connector, a few inches wide of stainless steel, like a plumber pipe fix..
/now the problem/
the breather line, that supposed to go into the air box, gushed oil after a few miles of riding. with a few others suggestions i built an oil catch can( copper tube with many holes drilled down the tube inside a metal wide mouth water bottle, with a pod style air filter atop the bottle. it could hold 28 0z. The copper tube enters the bottle close at the top. i planned to go riding with a friend. that didn't pan out, but i took lots of short rides spaced half hours in between trips. finally going to work after ridding over ten minutes i arrived home. i noticed some burning. oil hitting the muffler.. then i noticed the catch can was filled and started spewing out the filter of the catch can. down onto the case, seat, tire..are my rings shot? possible the bike was ran a bit without a filter...5900 miles on the bike. a local shop has "dies" or plates (something made for a single 500 cc)to have the cylinder bored under pressure. besides replacing all gaskets, the bore and rings is there anything else that could be making this occur. i live in California on the coast. i haven't wanted to run the bike unless 60+ degrees. i don't know if its a lemon.. when started, it reminds me of a lawnmower, and doesn't hesitate..

You sure its the breather from the head, and not the breather from the transmission?
