Here is your chance to own a nicely built Buell X1 Lightning. This bike turns heads everywhere I have taken it. Just about every area on this bike has been looked at and freshened up.
Work performed was New metallic orange powder coat on frame and wheels New black sapphire blue two stage paint with white pearl in the clear coat Top end refresh with new rings, valve stem seals and gaskets New updated bronze oil pump gear installed New updated primary chain tension shoe installed New primary and cam cover gaskets Grenade plate (clutch spring plate) replaced with two steel and one friction disc Updated crank seal installed New American Torque (I think) rear fender eliminator kit All new wheel bearings and steering head bearings Repacked swing arm pivot bearings New forcewinder intake installed with modified breather tube to eliminate breather drool New gel grips Freshly packed Vance & Hines SS2R slip on Fresh high temp silica coating on the header and slip on elbow New front fork seals and fluid Fresh zinc coating redone to most of the hardware Fresh brake fluid Engine and primary oil changed 400 miles ago New starter gasket and sealed around stator grommet New bar end mirrors installed Ignition, seat and steering head lock were all keyed to match Replaced one shift fork in the transmission with a good used fork Non Stock Parts on the Bike Vance & Hines SS2R slip on Buell race ECM Carbon fiber tank filler fairings Color combination Color matched tail section S3/M2 style fiberglass rear fender (Doesn’t shake as much as the original) HD derby and ignition covers Good things to know Everything works, lights, horn etc. I’ve put about 1400 miles on it since its completion to work out any bugs Bike was built to be ridden so it’s not a perfect piece. I’d rate it a 8.5-9 out of 10 It has a couple of stone chips already and a scratch in the clear on the tail The seat is my spare and looks decent but shows some wear on the edges and corners Clear title in my name with both frame and engine vin numbers recorded Engine and frame numbers don’t match so this isn’t the original pairing All isolators are in good shape I was planning on installing new Bridgestone Battlax T30 tires but you may not like them so I’m willing to pay up to the cost of the T30 tires, $230, and you can pick what you want. If it’s more, you cover the additional cost and I will install and balance them myself to help prevent scratches to the rims. I had a few threads going for the rebuild of this bike. Check them out to see all the work that was done. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/47623/740099.html http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/47623/747198.html http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/47623/763973.html?1432999843 Email, call or text me if you have any question. wkmcelhaney2013@gmail.com 760 628-4509 Thanks Bill

Hi Andrew, I originally rescued this bike to rebuild it and sell it to an owner who would take care of it. I have two other X1s so I really don't need this one. BTW I was just driving through Beaver Falls all this past weekend! |

I'm going to be taking this bike to the motorcycle show at the long beach convention center on sat Nov 21 and sun Nov 22. Come by and take a look if you're there. |
