Does this seem legit? Is this more of a setup for racetrack use? Preload: Front 0 Lines showing Rear Position 5 of 7 Rebound Dampening: Front .75 turn out Rear 1.5 turn out Compression Dampening: Front 12(twelve) turn out Rear 3 turn out |

That doesn't seem right... I'm running 2 lines on the front and position six on the back. I think if you try 12 turns out on the damping you'll end up with a leak . |

There isn't 12 turns of adjustment on the front comp? 3 out on the rear doesn't seem real either. 0 lines of preload showing? Be pretty stiff. I would not use these settings. Maybe that's why some mags slam the Buell on handling, they don't know how to set up the suspension? Do they say what weight rider this is for? Dave |

I tried these settings on my xb12s, stiff but it gor rid of the stand-up when using the front brake in a turn. From there I backed of the settings until I could live with it. |

Either switch to Metzeler or Pirelli tires or hang off properly with the stock tires. Any of those well eliminate the stand-up issue. |

How did you get 12 turns out on the front comp? I run 1 to 1 1/4 turn out. |

Dave, They didn't say how much the rider weighed in at. It's pretty generic. Their XB12 has completely different settings from a 9. Yet there is only a 10 pound difference in the two bikes. Here's the link. http://www.sportrider.com/bikes/146_susp_settings/ |

I think they mean 1.2 turns, that would make more sense. |

To quote the Geek: "lost in the settings" Personally I would not use the settings out of Sportriders test. It seemed like they probably did not have a owners manual from which to start which might explain why they "got lost in the settings". Use the settings from the manual for your weight with full gear. Then if that's not good enough, their was a post about more aggressive settings which I will see if I can find. Personally I think you will find the recommended settings in the manual just fine. If you are heavier and aggressive, the stock springs may be a little soft in the front. Of course this is only my (humble ?) opinion xbolt12 |

Wasn't that the sportrider review where they sinked the forks into the tripples by half an inch or so? Or was that another? |

Fork tube height was 7mm above top triple clamp. I don't get why they posted those numbers as "suggested suspension settings" and don't give rider weight. Settings are meaningless unless you take into account rider weight, aren't they? Mike. |

Yes they are XB9er. And dropping the fork tube on a bike that's already as "unconventional" as a Buell is asking for trouble. Ask Wyckedflesh. |

Buell recommended (stock) settings work just fine for me. I'm comparing this set up to my professionally set up, race prepped Honda F3. Keith |

M1 they moved them the other way. It slows the steering down a little and is the same method as used to mount the crossroads bars on the XB-S models. What they did is give it a less aggresive rake then what I did. |

I think they should hire me the next time they test a Buell. I could set up the suspension for them in about 5 minutes, show them how to ride the bike and write my own review to be printed along with theirs. Dave |

I wish they would get a positive voice for Buell in there somehow - Their whole complaint of " getting lost in the setup"would have been avoided if the had Looked At The Owners Manual ! |
