Hey everyone! I heard great things about this site, so I thought Id post my question here. I just bought a Cyclone that had some starting issues.. I got it started after cleaning out the carb and changing the gas. First off, the previous owner put a Vance and Hines exhaust on it along with a S&S Super E carb. It is not jetted as when given a quick open throttle, the bike dies out(if held there). I'm not entirely sure how one sounds normally, so I cant tell if its erratic. However it runs a lot nicer when its hot if that means anything. I just bought a high range jet kit so I could start jetting. I also just checked the spark plugs and I was definitely in need for new ones. They were both entirely black when pulled. Which I assume means its running Rich, but with the throttle issue I could have sworn that meant lean  Another thing I noticed is after high revs, some smoke comes out of the breather tube. I'm not sure how much smoke is supposed to come out, but does it make sense the higher I rev, the more smoke comes out? Would really appreciate the help, Thanks.. M2who |
