Just wanted to say a big thanks to everyone who contributes here as its a great help to anyone buying a Buell 1125R. Having had an 02 RSV Mille R (my second), I thought it best to get myself something newer after I buggered an engine on a track day then lost half the riding season last year waiting for it to be fixed. At the start of this season I sold it for around the same money I paid for an 09 1125R with 6k on the clock and couldn't believe how much you get for your money with these bikes. I was warned that the 09s needed the rotor mod doing but couldn't pass the bike up so bought it with a couple of mods (tail tidy, FMF Apex exhaust) already done. I then set about doing a few bits myself cosmetically rather than doing the rotor mod ... New factory fairings Brake levers clear led rear light and indicators Oberon bar end mirrors as standard vibrate too much to be useful Pegasus mirror blanks Running lights to indicator mod
Obviously around 500 sweet miles later the bloody stator fails and I find myself in the same position as last year as its starting to get cooler here. Thankfully this time it's a much quicker fix so uprated rewound stator and EBR rotor mod complete, I pick the bike up tomorrow with the following bits waiting in my garage to go on the bike at the weekend ... Ilmberger carbon exhaust shield Ilmberger heel guards Knight Industries foot pegs in black New headlight unit and Halo kit (yet to be installed) Front and rear RnG crash bobbins Zero gravity black double bubble screen Picked up a spare factory fairing set as they are rare here
Looking forward to getting back on the bike as it draws a crowd wherever I stop in the UK as you don't see many around much to the amusement of a buddy with a 2015 BMW S1000 RR that doesn't get a look in yet cost five times as much. I had a chat with Bruce Belfer the other day and you don't get that with the owner of Honda etc....great guy and will be great for the company! This is the third set I have bought though I sold the set with the bellypan. You should try EBay Germany as I bought two on there, one of which was boxed and unused. |
