The bike is a 2009 ULY All stock.Yellow engine warning/trouble light randomly comes on and off during a ride.Code 34 IAC is the code.Idle is bouncing around.I replace the IAC,plugs, coil pack, engine temp sensor and Tps with my on hand spares.I did a throttle body leak check using propane test per sevice manual pass no leaks. The bike rides pretty good except when slowing down coming to a light or stop etc...get the bouncing idle. |

OK the IAC must of some how got out of (I will use the word calibration). Any way the solution was remove IAC. Plug it back into the electrical connector. Hold the IAC with the thumb over the connector end and the pointing finger over the stepper plunger (metal) side. With the other hand turn key on and cycle the IAC with the red power rocker switch on the throttle side.Repeat this and the IAC will extend out then retract.By applying slight pressure on the plunger side you want to keep using that rocker switch until it almost fully retracted.Don't worry if the pintal comes out you can gently put it back in the IAC and repeat the cycling of the rocker until its Almost fully retracted.Put it back on the bike.Remember lube the Oring I use dielectric grease very slight.Put the two screws in.etc... Now go through the normal start up.Every time you cycle the red rocker button the IAc will reset its self. |

You normally wouldn't ever have to perform the mention above task. Removing the IAC and cleaning the IAC port of carbon deposits will usually take care of Idle issues. This was a rare incident. But this saved me some $$$ that would have had the dealership use there digital tech II computer to watch IAC (stepper motor) info. |

If while cleaning your IAC port,do the above mention procedure and allow the plunger screw to come out.Get a can of Corrosion X and spray a little in to the stepper motor. This will allow a very smooth operation of the IAC.while you got the can of Corrosion X out disconnect the ECM and spray some on its female grey and black sockets then re connect the ecm.Google this product (the red can) |

I recommend cleaning the throttle body with vehicle first with engine off to get the back side of the throttle body plate/valve or butterfly what ever you call it. I use a lent free white cloth or a tee shirt so I can see the carbon deposits I'm removing etc...Then with IAT hooked up if you had previously removed it to access the throttle body.Start the engine and spray throttle body cleaner into the throttle body.Make sure you get the rotating piviot shaft at the points where it goes through the throttle body. |

Dave what I did above ever help you.I'm starting to believe with my recent IAC problem has made me think that the problem and solution is corrosion or a bad c rimp in the Grey or Black ECM connectors. I100% believe in the corrosion X product and how to prepare the IAC but read about my latest issue.below this post |
