So, I went out for lunch today and took my American superbike to a recently favorited Italian restaurant. As I get close to the restaurant I notice a rider on a white bike waiting to pull out onto the street. I pull into the parking lot of the restaurant, park the 1190RX, get off the bike and pull my helmet off. As I turn around, I notice that white bike behind where I parked and the guy riding it asks - "Is that an EBR?" Wait just a second...someone else knows about these bikes?!?! Especially in such an area? He seemed fairly knowledgeable, although I did have to correct him that it wasn't an Indian company that had bought and is resurrecting EBR. He said that the RX or the KTM were his dreambikes. Incidentally, he was riding a pretty good sounding Hyosung. Gotta go, my calzone is here... So, how was your lunch? 1313 |

No money for lunch today, lol. Even with Buells, I am surprised at how many folks ask what it is, when "Buell" is written in big letters on the airbox cover. Knowing that someone recognized your 1190RX is encouraging! |

I've been selling off my projects and non-necessaries, in a desperate attempt to not have to sell my SX. I've sold, so far: 1. Tools 2. Toolbox 3. Honda pit bike I have a bunch of other stuff for sale, but it's still looking like the white unicorn might have to go. Back on point, I sold the pit bike today. The guy who came to buy it looked at my EBR and said "Erik Buell"? I said, "Darn right!" He was taken aside by seeing one in person, and how it's presence is unassuming and sharp at the same time... and the attention to engineering details. The rims, the stabilizer location, the LED headlight and the little air scoop for the heat sink. I love taking my bike out and preaching the good word. |
