These type of threads tend to have some shelf life so I thought I would kick one off. I just installed a set of Moto Grips along with some bar ends. There is something I really like about the compound these things are made of. I love the "feel" of them will riding.
http://motogrip.net/online-store.html and a pic of the bike just because... "Before grips"

Nice grips. Going with bar ends instead of fairing-mounted mirrors? |

But where's the after pic? I bought a couple of sets of those grips a while back, I forget what bike/bikes for, but never ended up using them. If they got a good feel, maybe I should put them on my 1125CR... To answer the question, I looked at both my Old School Buells today. Sorry I don't have a better answer. If I feel better tomorrow, I'll do what I had planned to do today and spend some quality time in the garage trying to clear some space to allow me to work on my S3T Defender! 1313 |

You'll find that your bike will handle better if you don't have a death grip on the bars. |

Hey everyone, I took my 97' out to the state fair the other day in MN. A drunk nay-sayer slithered up to my beautiful girl late in the night and says, ''It's ok hunny, it's just a blast.'' I quickly engage this male and swoop him upon his twinkle toes with a bit of knowledge and a quickly unvailed Smart Phone LED Light to guide him into the ''Big V Twin Piece of Harley Davidson Art'' that was once sold on a commercial level. He was so over stricken with glee, he pranced off into the night with his significant other. What a crazy end to the night that was, at the MN State Fair... Fixed the leaking base gasket on my X1W. Not the most fun I've had but it beats being at work, I suppose. |

Fuzzz, How hard is it to do rear isolators? Did you follow the service manual, or somebody's instructions on here? Been seeing a lot of talk on here about frame spreading tools... Thanks. |

I split the cases on my S2 today. Tomorrow I'll pull the 5th gear and do some more degreasing. I gotta drill two holes in the rear boss to add a Speedometer sensor. Sportster moved to electronic speedos in 95, but Buell didn't use them till 99. So the boss is there, but it isn't drilled to mount it. Converting to DDFI and I want the gauges to all plug into the harness natively, and I want to utilize the low fuel and check engine lights that are in the X1 gauges. |

Oh yeah, what did I do... I put new shoes on my neighbors S3 and did a quick clutch adjustment. He's a very happy camper now. The 2000 S3 was his son's. About 15,000 miles, it never got ridden so he sold it to his Dad (my neighbor). This is the same S3 that ate an intake tube bolt and roached the rear head some time ago. The tires were the original Dunlop D208's. Man were they hard. |

Yesterday I ran my drag bike through it's second and third heat cycles on fresh pistons and rings, then on the third start up of the day, I took it for a little ride. I have a bunch of photos of this project if anyone is interested...

Today I will arrange shipping and send out the check for my first tuber, a 1991 RS1200 Westwind that is in Maryland. I will be the second owner! To say I'm excited would be an epic understatement. |

"shakedown ride" aren't they all? But seriously folks, today, I broke the rear turn signal as I was backing out of the garage. Used black electric tape to patch it for the commute. |

Fixed rocker box leak, replaced throttle cable and foot pegs, and added bar risers. Then took my new baby for a ride to make sure the leaks were gone!
