I don't know if the S1 and X1 light housings are the same but I had issues trying to fit the DDM hi/lo bulb inside my X1 bucket. The specific issue was that the hi/lo switch is attached to the back of the bulb and is basically one piece and the assembly was just a tad too long to clear the bucket. I actually installed everything before running into the issue and was really bummed. Maybe I didn't try hard enough but didn't want to destroy neither the bulb nor the bucket so sent it back. They did confirm that some folks with Buell X1 had reported the same issue. Anyone here has DDM hi/lo in their X1? |

Could someone measure the lens/reflector on there S1? Mine is bigger than 7" more like 7 1/4" or so. What I'm looking to do is change that part, the bulbs are the easy part. Also were all the stock ones Bosch? Mine looks as if it is an E series?? At least it has a couple E's on the lens. Thanks again guys, Chuck. |

Dammit, I forgot to measure my S1W's light. I'll try to remember in the morning. But...I got the HID installed in the S2. WOW. Just as impressive as I'd hoped, and actually pretty darned easy. The only thing that had me stumped for a second was, plugs for a second light. Turns out they only have the car version of the hi-lo kit, so you get a hi-lo controller with two outputs. No biggie, coiled it up, zip tied it to the underside of the cluster bracket, no worries. "spare" if I need it 55w halogen low beam, in the E-code housing:
55w, 4300K HID low beam, same E-code housing:
