I let my tank cure for a few weeks, seems like maybe even a month. Got it back in the summer; then per the painter's instructions I let it cure in the sun on my deck for a few days to kind of bake the paint on and help with outgassing the solvents and such... After baking in the sun for a week it sat in my garage until my fairly sensitive nose couldn't smell paint.. then a little longer just to make sure. That was in 2006, I've had no paint issues what-so-ever (my vinyl lettering and stripes have bubbled though). |

Looking at several weeks before this tank has gas in it, so it'll be quite cured. |

Ken, I'm OK with the color discussion being here. I'm interested in the color you selected as well. Is there much additional cost/effort involved with the metal flake powder? |

It is more because you are doing multiple colors and coats This blue is blasted then coated chrome then metakic blue then uv coayed clear so 3 coats all done very quick and baked. I do not know the color just piced it off the wall. Benifet to me is this guy does it on the side so I had about twenty parts done I blasted everything but the frame so he did all those parts and sandblasted the frame for 300. He did my last bike it held up very well it is excellent work |

Wishing good luck on the paint hoping it has no issues it looks great!!!! Make sure if you put the Buell stickers on it you use the thick plastic ones not the thin vynil ones as they will bubble. I think this is the FTBD M2 SS model. Lets see a pic with it on the frame!!!! |

Yeah, I'm hoping Ken. I'll be sick to see something so pretty get all bubbly. I've got months before there will be fuel in it, so I'm hoping that the long cure time will allow it to be bubble free. Haven't decided on the decals yet. Part of me wants them on there. Part of me doesn't want to stick anything on the paint. |
