Tubers have a tempered sheet metal guide that keeps the cable entering the housing at a gentle angle . . . don't know if the XB series has one or not . . . . .it might be worth a try to add one and see if it helps? |

Thanks Mike. I'll have a look. Nothing there like that Bomber, could you post a pic? Hogs, I think it's a "bullet" with a hole for the cable to go through, with a screw in the side to lock it down. |

glitch -- I would, but some miscreant boosted my tank bag and tail bag on my way to the Mile, and the tank bag held my digicam -- take a look at the clutch lever perch of any tuber, and you'll see what I mean . . . just keeps one from having tge cable take a big bend as it exits the lever perch is all . . . . . should be too tough to gen one up |

I'm going to Bike Night at the Vortex tomorrow. There'll be plenty of Tubers there. I'll take my camera, and post some pics tomorrow night. some miscreant...My best fitting leather was stolen, haven't found one to fit my skinny bones and long arms since. Makes me mad just thinkin' 'bout thieves. |

GLitch....I have, at work, a stainless steal ferrel that has a ball joint in two places before you attach a cable. It is designed for a prosthetic arm cable. The cable I use for Heavy Duty is way thicker (gage) than the stock clutch cable. Maybe we can make something twice as better and cooler as well. Plus no one else would have it and people would want it! |

Hog...kinda like what Glitch said. Here's the closest I could come to finding a picture on the web: We found the piece at a True Value hardware store. It was labeled throttle clamp on the outside of the little storage bin. It was about $2/ea. |

Bomber - XB's have that sheet metal cable guide too. Daves - Thank you. Email parts ordering, hot damn! Lake Bueller - I made a part almost just like that in an attempt to repair my cable. I also tried a .30 caliber bullet, jacketed, and a short piece of brass tube. The barrel on the stock cable seems to be solid solder. Solder seems to be the most durrable. Anyway, my cable was not long enough to work after soldering and flairing the end. |
