The bulb in my tail light keeps vibrating out of its socket. The PO put some kind of thick & sticky putty in the socket to try to stop this but it's still happening. At this point, I think the whole socket needs to be replaced. Are the parts still available? Has anyone done a LED conversion? Thanks |

I have the LED tail light and XB Lights makes a nice one too. They are pricey, but ya get what ya pay for. I have an extra 2010 factory light if you wan to go that route. Just PM me. |

Is the 2010 light the same shape as the 2008? |

For the 2010 models, Buell switched to the LED setup pictured above. It has a different connector than the bulb tail light, so you will need to adapt it, but that is not difficult. The current MSRP for it is $57.86 (without the plate light), or you can buy it from American Sport Bike with it already converted to plug into your bike http://americansportbike.com/newdir/Item/A17383 The XBLights is nicer and brighter, but it is significantly more expensive. The 2010 light has the best bang for the buck. |

I just put one of these on my '08 and OMG is it nice. The wires and plug are significantly different but they are color-coded the same. The LED wires are a much smaller gauge and the connectors are different. I cut them off and made the connections with these: http://www.posi-products.com/posilock.html I used the red 18-24 awg size. Worked great. |

The 2010 LED taillight goes very well with the OEM turn signals and the Jardine fender eliminator. I used a matching Radianz LED lighted license plate frame. The only issue with the 2010 light is it doesn't mount exactly flush with my 2008 tail. There were 1/16" gaps at the bottom. Same with the Jardine fender eliminator. I had to use automotive sealant (black) to seal out moisture and dust. Came out looking like a slick OEM set up that's all LED. https://www.flickr.com/photos/36653239@N08/1595521 8550/in/dateposted-public/lightbox/ |
