I just ordered my Jardine Exhaust and I was wondering if you need the Race ECM. Can someone help me out on this? |

It would definitely be mo' better, but I think a few people are running modified exhausts with the K&N and 12 airbox without the ECM. The issue is how lean it'll run. The earlier FI bikes needed the race ECM, but it seems with XB's stock ECM adjusts a little better. I haven't taken the plunge yet myself, so I'm not too sure. You may want to ask Charlieboy...he's got that set up on his wife's XB9R. |

You don't need it, but it you'll be glad you got it. The bike will learn the new pipe, if that's what you mean. Shred has a Buell race muffler with no race ECM, 27thousand plus miles with no problems. The 9s benefit much from the race ECM. |

So....you are saying that since I have a 9r it is not required, but the bike will run less lean if I do have it? |

Running a cut airbox, K&N, mod'ed pipe, snorkel removed on my 12S....no probs! |

I am now running a Jardine, Race K and N air filter, no snorkel, and stock ecm. The bike runs fine. I had a techlusion 1040i on it and that helped add some fuel and seemed to smooth it out a bit. I just took the 1040i off so I can put on the new techlusion 1045st. You use the 1045st with the stock ecm. |

What exactly does the techlusion 1045st do? I see everyone talking about it and I have no idea. |
