Does the vehicle "make" identified on the title for 1991/1992 RS/RSS's show Buell? Any chance they were titled as H-D? |

I would seriously doubt that they would be titled as H-D. They weren't even affiliated (i.e. stakeholders) in Buell at that time. |

I'm aware of the 1993/2003 Harley timeline junctures. Weird deal, but a 1992 RSS1200 is titled in Wyoming as a "HarDa" - bike was taken as trade at a Harley dealer and when bought FROM the Harley dealer with 528 miles on the odo, it was titled as a 'HarDa.' The VIN follows Buell format and is within a couple units away from other RSS's referenced on Badweb. Maybe the transfer from Harley confused someone, or maybe the fact the bike says on the side "Powered by Harley Davidson". Dunno, but a beautiful bike. |

Perhaps the data entry person's cat walked on the keyboard? |

The DMV sounds so official, but in the early 90's it's all down to clerks entering data. Easy mistake to make, they'd probably never heard of a Buell, asked their co-worker, "what's a Boo-el?" Co-worker said, it's from the Harley dealer, must be a Harley-Davidson, abbreviated "Har-Da". It's even possible the Wyoming computer entry was limited to only a drop-down list and Buell wasn't even on there. |

^^ Yes. And even when it became somewhat computerized, the word Buell didn't appear as an available selection in some states for a few years. Similarly, my first Buell was insured as a HD because the insurance company had no idea what a Buell was. It didn't exist in their universe. |

Heck, my 2000 M2 was something totally whacked out, because the VIN was entered wrong somewhere before I bought it and a 2 was a Z or something. I choose to pretend not to notice when I first registered it, as it was coming in from out of state in the middle of January, and I froze my nuts off riding it up to the DMV to get the title in my name. I figured I would sort it out later if it became a problem. Somewhere down the line it was magically fixed before I sold that bike (probably a data sweep by the DMV when they realized that only a Z could appear in that column, and never a 2, and that any 2's were errors). |

Old dog, Is the RSS black in color and titled in Wyoming 1993 or 94? If yes I may know a little about it. |
