Anybody who says they dont see your brake lights with one of these, would have to be blind or asleep, PERIOD! Original running light:  Original brake light:  New LED running light:  New LED brake light:  Best money I think I have ever spent on visibility items by far. They aint cheap from American Sport Bike, but I think well worth it. See guys, the money tree finally harvested!! Bruce, Did you get the turn signals incorporated into the tail light as well? I noticed a thread a week or so ago addressing this and the high cost. Any ideas of where I might locate a cheaper one or bring the cost down?!?! Thanks, and that thing kicks booty! | ||

Hey Trev, Yes, it has the incorporated turn signals. They are way too weak for the stock red lens to show clearly, but with the clear lens as seen above, they are very identifiable. They are expensive, and from what I can deduce having studdied it for a while before installing it, there are a couple reasons why. #1-QUALITY! This thing is a nice piece of work, it is well assembled, quality components, exellent solder assembly, great fit in the housing. #2-The LED's themselves. These are some of the highest quality, INTENSE LED's I have ever seen. Just to look at one of these things, from behind, at night with the brakes on, is almost painfull! Yes, I agree, they are expensive in the terms of a "light", but in the way of safety, are more then worth it. Sometimes, you just have to suck it up and do it. Trust me, I know 300 bucks aint cheap for the light and lens as a set, but you will appreciate them!! Bruce | ||

Thanks for the report. The color also looks more red than faint orange on the stock light. I assume you used the same exposure setting on the camera for all 4 pictures so it's an apples to apples comparison? I like the idea of a brighter tail light, does anyone know of a "just stop light" setup without the integrated flashers? Maybe that could be a little less $$ too. And I'm not talking about the $10 swirling LED bulb replacement you can get on eBay. | ||

Hyperlites are bright leds that hook to the brake light system and you can have two options. It flashes for I think 5 seconds then lights up to augment the factory brake light or it will continuously flash as long as the brake light is on. The continuous flashing is annoying to those behind you. I have them on my BMW and my XB9S. The flashing for 5 seconds gets their attention... to notice I am applying brakes... then it stays on solid as a second brake light. I love it. The company can custom build tail lights without directionals, its up to you and your pocket book. The exposure was the same, from the same place in the garage, about 2 hours apart. (had to wait for the goo to dry!!) You guys, I am serious, these things ROCK!! Thanks again to Al and the bunch at American Sport Bike Bruce | ||

Let me see, "not let the man who designed and built my tail light to use my pictures, and face permanent ridicule", OR, let him use them and maybe thousands of people will see the shadow of MY bike, hmmmmmmmmmm.............. OK, use them up!!!! If you want identical picture sizes and formats, let me know. I have the originals right here on the 'puter. I had to cut and trim them for this site's 60KB limit! Bruce | ||

See how the original pictures are red throughout? And how the LED pictures turn white in the center? They don't look like that in person, but the lights are so freakin bright they overload the CCD sensor in the camera and create that whitish glow. I've tried and tried to get a good picture that really shows how good and bright they look, but I can't do it with my camera. It's like trying to take a picture of the sun. Al | ||

NADA BRO!! Just take the clips out of the factory reflector housing, slide the wiring through. You will see where it sits in there, then slide out a bit, put down some shoe-Goo where the sides touch and on the board. Then let dry about 5 minutes, then slide board back in and press lightly. Put some more Goo on the side and edges and let stand. I put a small nylon zip tie on the wiring bundle where it comes out the back to one of the tabs from the removed clips (you will see what I am talking about). Then I sealed the hole up with some more Shoe-Goo to keep moisture out, and let set for a couple hours to dry up quite a bit (Shoe-Goo drys pretty quick) DONT USE SILICONE SEALENT!!! THEY ARE CORROSIVE TO THE BOARD!! There are "safe" silicones, but dont waste your time, use the Shoe-Goo, it just works better. You dont need to use a ton of it, just a small bead at the sides and a little on the top and bottom did it for my just fine. WIRING: Red- Brake light__________Buell-Red w/yellow Black- Ground___________Buell-Black Blue- Running light_______Buell-Orange w/white Violet- Left turn_________Buell-Violet Green- Right turn_________Buell-Brown Thats it!!
