I'm selling my '96 S2T,it's Quicksilver Metallic and was originally owned by the City of Duluth Georgia police department. They were the first police force in the US to use a Buell.I have a copy of the original title,an article in Battle2Win magazine detailing the city's ownership, photo's showing the bikes in full police livery, the motor officers with the bikes and the signature series package. The bike runs very strong and has always been maintained. It has Mobile1 in the engine and Redline in the trans/primary.The front tire has 3300 miles on it but still shows good tread while the rear is a new Conti Motion. It has Traxxion Dynamics valves, springs and oil in the front forks and a Showa K1400 rear shock (the last shock used on tubers),an LED volt meter,Polly heaters in the handle bars,Yamaha snowmobile mirrors which look very close to stock but stay where you put them and don't develop the S2 mirror droop,an XB ignition switch which shouldn't wear out or vibrate apart like the stock switches do,faring bags,a helmet lock,a Borla carbon fibre muffler,a ceramic coated heat shield,a Corbin seat,E3 plugs with Crane plug wires and a remote idle adjuster. At 45,338 miles the reed switch in the speedo went bad and the signals wouldn't cancel anymore.A board member donated a speeo and I recorded the mileage. The bike has 51,700 miles now.It suffers from the usual S2 sidestand problem and should be parked in gear.In the last year three things happen that damaged the bodywork. The faring lowers were off, lying on a tarp and I lost my balance and fell on the right side and cracked it.The front faring was off and fell from four feet and cracked the tips on the trailing edges on both sides, also nicking the paint on the front. And the bike fell over in my shop, knocking a hole in the left side saddlebag and making a scuff on the tail section.I've tried to show this in the pics. All damage is repairable. The paint is still quite shiny. This is an oportunity to own a piece of Buell history as one of the only S2 police bikes ever made.I would like $2800 for the bike as option one.I have a '97 Lightning engine with milage in the low 12,000's,new top end gaskets, new paint on the jugs and heads and is a very strong running engine with I believe 86 hp and 79 lbs of torque.I will include this engine for $3500.
