I never changed any mapping. I just messed with the idle adjustment halving it up either way until it worked out. My '06 seems to idle a little slow, like yours when cold, but without touching the throttle after the initial start, until it warms up for several minutes, the idle has always worked out to right around 1000 + - 50. I try real hard for + or - 25 rpms......but you know.....shaking and all..... At that slow idle it seems like it should die or foul the plugs or something evil should happen, but it doesn't. The trick is to let it just do it's thing for five minutes or so and all will be well, as long as there are no previously fouled plugs or other problems that would affect idle. |

"when the bike is Cold the re sacaré around 800". That is not right and is because your TPS is not quite perfect. On a 06 bike it NEEDS to be right or it will effect everything else as well. It is a pain to get right as well and the reason, I guess, they changed it on later bike to a auto system. The crank case breather mod helps will idle smoothness but it should still run a idle of about 1100 rpm idle at cold. |

Correct. Take the bike for a quick ride, then try resetting the TPS again. |

Also try doing a mechanical zeroing of the tps sensor. Loosen both screws on the sensor and notice you can rotate it a little. Rotate it counter clockwise/to the left/anti clockwise, whatever term you use. Then go the other way until you feel it engage the pin in the shaft. At this point rotate the sensor roughly a millimeter more and tighten the screws. This preloads the sensor and the spring tension will keep it from bouncing around which might be causing your erratic idle speed. You will have to do a tps reset after this adjustment and I would recommend you do like Froggy said and get the engine hot before you reset it. You may have to do a cold reset to get it to run, then get it hot and reset it again. (Message edited by tootal on May 22, 2015) |
