With the season of farkle-adding coming to an end, since I nary put up with down time when it's nice out, I'm trying to get this mod done as soon as I can. I have three bulging discs (L2-L5) and my Clubman bars are a torture rack. I can hardly do 15 min rides now. With my 30th birthday barely a month behind me, the old myth is proving true: you start feeling your body at 30. Though, I honestly started feeling it at 26. Does anybody have a spot on a set of high bars for the CR ... hopefully with the cables and lines? Thanks Badweb. |

I have a set new in boxes, that I bought when I got my CR. I want to keep a set here, new, with the bike...in case I ever get to the point where the clubmans hurt me. That said...if you need 'em now, and will promise to find me a replacement set...drop me a note. Got the bars, and lines, and filler plates. |

Wow Joe, didn't expect an offer like that. Thank you so much for your generosity, especially since you're local. I decided to bite the bullet and order a new kit from Al. I don't think it would have worked out differently if I had taken you up ... I'd probably have just bought a new set from Al for you anyway. I can't find anybody selling a second-hand kit or bar anywhere. |

The high bars, Uly dropped pegs, Buell comfort seat and a laminar lip and I can ride for a while before my body decides I need a break lol |

I hear ya, Harley. I got some dropped rider pegs from Knight and they really opened my hips up. The Baldwin seat is firm but also opens my hips up more since it's an inch or so thicker than the stocker. I'm hoping the high bars will complete the trifecta. It's the femur/pelvis/spine angle that gets me: sciatic nerve starts to throb, feet tingle. Man, it sucks. (Message edited by jeepinbueller on April 01, 2015) |

They are few and far between, but they are out there. I sold a used bar high bar a few weeks ago. |

I saw your classified a few days too late, Froggy. Was cursing at myself for that one. |

Wouldn't high bars would put you in a more vertical position? Wouldn't this likely aggravate your condition by putting more upper body weight on your spine? I have drag bars S1 & clubman bars on the CR. A knees up jockey style with the balls of your feet on the pegs helps me a lot w/ my back and hips. You end up using your thighs more which takes weight off your butt and spine. Hope this helps. |

I'd really like to convert the bars off of a 1125r to my Cr. The R is perfect me. The clubmans must be 3" forward more. I feel like I'm laying on a Ducati Panigale. |

I went from the stock clubmans to the highbar and found it was a bit too upright. Then I reinstalled the stock clubmans upside down and I LOVE it. Still Need the longer cables and hydro lines from the high bar kit but it's anothe option for you to try out. |

I had the high bars and agree with Xtreme, it was to high. I switched to the upside down clubmans using the longer lines from the high bars and it worked out to be near perfect! |

Dannybuell: I can see how it'd seem that way, but being more vertical takes the pressure off my core muscles--mainly in the lower back--especially with the addition of wind on the CR. When I'm more upright the angle between my femur and spine is more obtuse, compared to laying down with my pegs at stock position. That "crouch" forces the front of my vertebrae closer together than the rear which forces the discs to bulge, pressing on the nerves. That position, I've found, tends to irritate the area at the head of my femur/pelvis joint where the sciatic tunnels through. Xtreme & Dual: I've never even thought of flipping the stock clubmans... I might have to give that a try if I find the high bars leave me a bit too upright and I need a Goldilocks in between option. Thanks! |
