Hello all. I tried searching for an exact issue, but there are so many different fixes, I figured I would just ask. I have an 05 XB9 that I installed a race ECM on after having issues with flat spots in the RPM ranges. I have a K&N air filter installed and I have a custom 3" high flow exhaust with packing utilizing the stock exhaust. After installing the Race ECM, I performed a TPS reset and adjusted it to 5.5 and also set the AFV to 100%. The issue is when I start the bike, it will run for a couple seconds and then bog down almost stalling or stall if I don't hit the throttle. I can post up a video of the bike running if that helps out. I also put the stock ECM back on the bike an it ran normal with no issues. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance. |

Seems like you have already solved the problem. Bike runs reasonably well on the stock ECM, has issues ( at least at idle/low engine speed ) with the race ECM. Perhaps the race ECM is not that happy with your specific setup. It is possible that the TPS settings you have are not what the engine likes when cold. If possible, try riding the bike for a bit until warm, with the race ECM, and see if an idle adjustment solves the problem. If that doesn't work, might have to go to some quality time on the dyno with someone who understands ECM programming. |

Go ride for a half hour at 3 - 4k rpm to give the race ECM a chance to "learn" your system before you do anything. You did a TPS - so you have ECMSPY? Take a look at the race map and see how it compares to the stock one in the idle area. Is there a chance that your race ECM may have been hacked by a previous owner? The "My Maps" feature on the ECMSPY web site is great for this sort of comparison. |
