Sold my Uly last night. Went to a young man who knew what it is and appreciates it for what it is. His Mom used to have a Buell Blast. I didn't post a whole lot here but I checked in often, and still will. Hopefully soon we can chat about the AX..... Ron |

So how did you like your Uly? Did you sell it because you found something else? |

I really enjoyed it, for over 42000 miles. It was an absolute hoot to ride. (I apologize that this gets a bit long....) I'm blaming it on old age....I'm now 59, my wife is 56. We used to ride together on the Uly for some fairly long rides. Then my wife developed sciatica and riding on the back of the Uly for more than a couple of hours just got too uncomfortable for her. So 2 years ago I picked up a 2000 Royal Star Venture to see if a big touring cruiser with floorboards instead of pegs would work better for her. She liked it....a lot. So in Sept. we moved up to a new HD Limited, which she likes even better. I also have a newish KLR650. That leaves me with 4 bikes in the garage. So the RSV is sold because it's been replaced by the Harley and the Buell goes because I've been riding the KLR as a commuter and one up DualSport/Adventure Tourer and I find I like the extra dirt worthiness of the KLR. Part of the funds from the Uly are going to suspension upgrades to the KLR to make it even more dirt worthy. I wasn't riding the Uly much anymore, less than 200 miles last year, so why insure it and register it for that? We had a good run together..... |

...and you made some nice upgrades for the Uly folks. Shame your salesman was such a putz... Glad you're still riding though - that's the important part! If you ever get a Uly craving, just let me know...still have my '06, you're welcome to a few miles in the saddle |

Thanks for getting back. My mileage on my '06 has been pretty low the past few years also. Mostly due to changes in my business. Lone paper hanger in a windstorm syndrome. But for me, soon to be 58 years young, I plan the Uly to be the last bike in the shed.....as long as I get my XL250 back together and gone. Rather than sell the Uly too cheap because of it's being beyond 62,000 miles, I plan to build a bigger office and hang it on a wall. Of course I want to see a bunch more miles on it first. |

The buyer took it out for his first ride yesterday. He just texted me that he was "thrilled" and that it was "the most comfortable and fun bike I've ever ridden. It felt like a larger version of the supermoto (he previously owned a Suzuki DRZ400SM), I liked the power delivery and how it handled." We have another convert! |

If you're going to hang it on a wall, why not upside down from the ceiling? The Buell of Damocles |

Nate.....with my bi-focals that would just confuse me. Oh, and it is only an 8 foot flat celing. |
