I just bought the one in the classifieds, eager to see it in person. I'm familiar with its design, but never seen one. Anyone else ever run one? What are your opinions? With this, I believe the only aftermarket full systems for tubers I haven't had are the Kooks and Borla. I've had early and late Force exhausts, D&D full system, early and later Race exhausts, S1W header, and S2 header. Still haven't had an X1 stock header, black M2 header, or a 2" S1 header either. |

There were a few more full systems for tubers; Westek 2 into 1, Pro-Racer 2 into 1, and the more obscure 2 into 2 systems made for Buells - BUB, and the early D&D. Some that were advertised (but I've never seen), Beyone 2 into 1, and Thunder & Lightning 2 into 1. There were also a variety of limited runs that Custom Marine/T.B. made for race teams that Buell/H.Duga supported. There were also a few Japanese systems, but I suspect few made it to the U.S. There's probably more that I can't remember. Sorry for de-railing the post... I've tried a KT but the version was a race system that was very loud - and had some durability issues. I know there were a few generations after ours so the durability may have improved. Tried and still have several of the others - preferred most of them over the KT. |

Ah I forgot about the bubs; didn't know there were others. Seen several custom jobs though. Any pics of the others you spoke of? I actually have modified WesTek handlebars; they made nice stuff. But there are very few pics of their stuff still around, at least that I can find. Yeah I'm not a fan of the straight pipe. I figured I would try it out and see how it sounds, though it'll probably sound similar to my open header when I ran it that way. I have a D&D muffler that I will likely affix to it instead of the straight pipe, should I choose to keep it. Definitely gonna make some secure mounts though. |

Ken, White Bros made nice stuff too. I know they and several other companies made various slip ons, but I don't think White Bros made any full systems, as in headers and muffler, which is what I was talking about. I did have a White Bros full 2-1 exhaust on my Sportster and loved it. |

I have been running a KT on my S1 for a decade or so. bought it new from Kendon Tech. I run the "baffle" that came with it. Still very loud. They also gave you a heat shield with the pipe. Think i have an extra one some where. Was an interesting shield. looked like half a funnel that attached to the frame. S1Eric |

I fitted a KT straight pipe in Oct 14. Brought my S1W with a titanium header and V&H slip on but some ass knocked it over in a parking lot and the header cracked, couldnt find anybody to weld titanium for a reasonable cost and saw the KT so brought and fitted that. Its loud but in a good way, I havnt fitted the small baffle, cant even remember if it came with one in the end. I get good power across the rev range and it looks cool if you like that look. I'm looking for new brackets though as one broke so if anyone has any... I'll fab some up when i get home if i can't find some but wont have much time so if anybody has any i could buy that would be sweet. S1eric I'd be interested in the heat shield, could you post a photo? Will also be at Daytona 200 if any other tubers are around |

Ran the KT and loved it, but it was LOUD! At idle nice and mellow but WOT hold crap! I was able to get 95 RWHP and 91FT at the rear with 1200ccs on the pipe so it worked and worked well. Only had xb heads, xb12 pistons and 427 cams with a flatslide Mik carb. The baffle is useless, chuck it. Also keep an eye on the mounts I broke and welded many and if you do not have the front Y exhaust mount upgrade now it will not survive on the single mount. |
