I recently received a complimentary copy of the Brit bike magazine TWO, and am thoroughly impressed at how much better it is (to me) than the magazines available here in the US. I subscribed to Streetfighters for many years and loved that as well. TWO is much more engaging with many more photo's and stats than either Cycle World or Motorcyclist, not to mention you get to see the bikes that we never do here. Anyone else seen this mag? Impressed, or am I just a sucker? |

Nope you're not a sucker. TWO (Two Wheels Only) is a high end publication. Hell, us Brit's need something to keep us going through the winter. Yes, they burn well on an open fire Rocket |

I subscribe to TWO, and to a Brit pub that is even slightly better... BIKE. Both outstanding. The U.S. motorcycle press can learn a thing or two from what these guys do and come up with. |

Here's a couple more to check out, RIDE is a sister mag to BIKE, mostly product and bike tests but very informative. Back Street Heroes is a sister to Streetfighters but more custom oriented. Both are a good read. Me, I get Classic American every month cos I just love V8s. I get my bike-stuff fix right here. |

I'll buy any of the above Brit mags if I see something engaging. American motorcycle mags are too opinionated (aside from RoadRacing World)...if I wanted an opinion on a bike I'd ask an owner. Judging by them every bike they test is good with a few gripes about the most trivial things...like instrumentation or styling! Gimme a break. Most of the Brit mags have solid facts and subjective road and track tests of any bike they get a hold of...as well as including the stats. They're brutally honest, as well. Sugar coating the facts is just cheating us readers. |

Motorcyclist is a Brit (owned) Bike Mag and the Brit's made many improvements to it. Now if they would just get rid of Mitch Boehm, it just may improve even more. Then again, even Mitch has improved significantly since the British Invasion. Perhaps he will be worth keeping in another year or so. LOL |

In general European bike mags rule. How many bike mags are at your local Barnes & Noble? I don't know either. You can be tooling around Germany and pull in to one of the newer Aral Tankstelle and have 30 or 40 motorcycle specific mags. Same goes for the tuner mags, computer mags, it's really astonishing in comparison when you consider you're at the gas station (you're also getting a sandwich, putting some Euros on your Handy and a few liters of gas.) |

While I note my affection for Bike and TWO above, there are two "opportunity areas" for these mags. 1). They have a distaste for cruisers, so I don't think they represent all motorcyclists... though I recognize cruisers are a smaller segment in the U.K. 2). Related to the preceding, faster-the-better mentality runs throughout most evaluations. If bike A goes 168mph and bike B goes 164mph then bike A is better.
