So my CEL and LFL have both been coming on a few minutes after startup from cold. Both lights go off once CT rises. This tells me it's the Mode 2 error. Which means pump needs replacement. The Service Manual states one must remove the swing arm to replace the pump. Is this necessary on the 1125R. I remember when I replaced the fuel pump on my XB12R, the Service Manual also stated the swing arm must be removed. However, others stated this was not necessary. I tried and I was actually able to remove the XB12R fuel pump without removing the swingarm. I simply raised the rear of the bike enough to get sufficient clearance to pull the pump out of the frame. I'm hoping this can be done with the 1125R. Has anybody ever pulled their fuel pump without removing the swingarm? |

Yes, You will need to support your bike. I have a overhead beam that is use to lift the rear while the from wheel in in a wheel chock.
You will need to loosen the axle enough to slip the belt off. Next remove the lower shock mount and allow the wheel to rotate down, I was able to remove the outlet of my Barker Exhaust to allow enough room to remove the fuel pump. I am not sure if there will be enough rotation room with a stock pipe before the tire hits. There is not enough room to remove the pump without either swing are removal or rotating down as described above. |
