Think either the starter or one of the sensors feeding into the starter logic is starting to fail. Faults I've seen: Bike fails to start in first with the clutch retracted. Bike Fails to start in Neutral with the Clutch engaged, but then started with it retracted. Bike Fails to Start in Neutral with the clutch engaged or retracted. Shifted to first and engaged the clutch, then rocked the bike to move the transmission. Bike successfully started. Source of the conundrum is that I'm moving within two weeks, and either have to run down the gas tank or drain it. Each requires starting it at least once. Realizing I only seem to post here when something doesn't work; sorry. Usually I just lurk and learn, without much to say. |

Apples and oranges, but my X-1 ignition system grounds through the neutral switch, the clutch switch, and the sidestand switch, depending on the configuration of the bike at start. If in neutral, through the neutral switch; if in gear, through the clutch switch, and so on. Might do to go through each of you bikes various 'safety' switches, and the connectors, to make sure all is well. Is the Bank Angle Sensor happy? Hope this helps, Dave |
