Anybody know how much a stock 1125 weighs? I know what the handbook says, I'd like to know what the bike weighs, with oil, battery and full of gas. Could probably figure out the gas weight. Just wondering |

Do you have a truck stop near by where you could use the scale? I've often thought about doing this but I don't have a scale within a hour from me. |

A July 2008 Motor Cyclist article has the 1125R at 474 lbs wet, tank full. |

440 dry. 466 wet, according to Wiki, but that's the interweb so you know it's true. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buell_1125R You can drop 20 off that pretty easy by replacing battery and exhaust. Denoid, and removal of some things you might not need (cali can, rear footpegs) |

Yah, I guess hunting up a scale would answer. I removed passenger pegs and mounts as soon as I got it. It's denoided, a lithium-iron battery is on the list. Now all I have to do is lose 15 pounds. Weight of Cali can is negligible. |

Remove Cali Can and reroute hoses. It will start right away on a hot day with a hot engine. You don't need that stinkin' Cali can. Without it you can carry a full flat tire repair kit where the Cali can used to be. |

My drag bike weighed in at 449lbs a couple of years back. That's with fibreglass bodywork - a lot lighter than stock- an APH exhaust and all of the usual bits and pieces removed. But I'd guess the extended arm added some weight back on. Little Joe's bike came in 50lb lighter, all carbon, lithium battery, ebr exhaust, magnesium wheels and a small fortune in titanium nuts and bolts. He was another 50 +lbs lighter than me too, no way I was ever going to catch him !!! |

You don't need a truck scale, just two bathroom scales--one under each tire. |

Actually you can use just one bathroom scale. Do each wheel individually and add the two values. Gravity will do its job. |
