I have found a rare 2010 xt with every option I could ever want on it, 8000 miles on the clock, for $4500,

The downside is it has a rebuilt title from a lowside on gravel. seller has sent me pics of the bike before and after repairs, damage was mostly to the handlebars and upper plastics, flyscreen, windshield, headlights and bars have been replaced. everything now looks nice but the chin spoiler and the wheels still have some rash on them. Having the wheels cleaned up and powdercoated does not bother me, Id rather have them silver anyway. The frame has some scratches that have been touched up with paint.

this bike already has the 2010 rear wheel, x model headlights and front fenders on, and both types of hepco luggage, $4500 worth or keep shopping?

Please give me some opinions ,seems like a good deal, but should I even touch a rebuilt bike at all?

Sounds like Chris Roger's bike, if it is, it is a good bike and a great price.

One thing to know about an XB is that because the frame is also the gas tank, insurance companies want to replace the tank with any sign of damage to protect themselves from a liability standpoint. The problem is the cost, a replacement frame is $1300 + labor, so something as simple as a jealous ex keying the frame usually results in the bike being totaled. There have been many XB bikes on Copart and similar salvage auction sites with no major damage but totaled because of the frame, similar to this bike.

That said, I know Chris fixed up the bike right, and he knows his way inside and out of these bikes too, including doing motor swaps to put a 9 motor in a Uly frame on another bike he had.

If it is the bike you want, go for it.

I'd buy it in a heartbeat if it inspected clean.

The only caveat I would offer is that it will be a hassle to sell. Not a big deal if you plan to ride it into the ground. And not a problem if you don't mind giving somebody else a good deal on a bike you got a good deal on. If you can't get $4000 of fun out of that bike over two years, there is something really wrong with you.

Just don't buy it then come back whining about resale value or people that don't want salvage title bikes... : )

Given that it is a good running 2010 then you should really enjoy it. They handle pretty much better than any other bike I've ridden and owned.

you better just hope it's still there! good price for a great bike.. like others said don't whine about not being able to re sell for more.
get it and "ride it to the ground" (Reepicheep)
2 sets of bags? you could recover $500. on the price selling 1 set.
personally I wish I had the early style bags but would need to switch the rack out too.
what color?

these,

I favor the older style that latch to rack at the rear, those would be usable when and if I add another Guzzi.

my top box is of the olderstyle and then it would allmatch up.

Yeah, me too. The Juniors are the ones you want. They come in 30 and 40 liter flavors. Same as the Journey we both have but with a much better latch system.

Here it is at home

pic

pix

I drove all the way from springfield MO to Neenah , WI to pick it up.
Previous crash damage is nil. Frame paint touchup was done very well, cant see it at all unless you squint at the exact spot up close. The wheels are scuffed a bit but I want to powdercoat them when I swap tires anyhow.
Its a 2010 XT thats dressed up like an X model, exactly what I wanted. Its got the outdoorsman top box with rack and journey side cases.
I even got the repair and parts manuals, precision pegs, tuono mirrors, standard and low gel seats, and buell tank bag, all for $4600. 8000 miles on the clock.

Not a bad deal I thought, even with the rebuilt tile.
I have wanted a Buell for a years now and its definitely a buyers market out there.
I plan to do tires, windshield, exhaust, ecm, and a few other things to it before riding season.

Ill have to take it easy until I get used to it, Its quite a bit more bike than Ive had before.

Yes, Wisconsin is very nice looking, definitely better than western ND thats for sure. I didnt know exactly where the EBR facility was, and Ive never been to WI before.

But we did get the round trip done in 24hrs.

I was wanting to buy and ECM and pipe, I was advised the sooner the better for the race ecm, since the 2010 model runs far too lean due to EPA regs.
Plus I have a couple of months to tinker and just cant seem to leave anything alone.

E. Troy Wi, near Milwaukee.

remind me of the time I drove to Texas and back non-stop, 36hrs (in a blizzard) to get a free Guzzi.. later sold for $1800. and the guy is still a friend of mine!

I have the race ECM but stock muffler, am very pleased with performance and noise..
others here have a lot more expertise about it tho..

Glad that bike found a good home! If I didn't already have a Uly, it would have been in my garage.

CDH,
Congrats!

I do love the 10' Yellow/Black. I have a 10' X with both sets of bags as well and find reasons to keep them daily. I have been thinking about either powder coating my X wheels black or swapping out my X for XT wheels. I really like the black wheels with the black frame and yellow plastics.

Here's a couple of beauty shots of the bike with the different bags.

I'm glad the bike went to a good home. I will definitely miss it for sure, but I just have so much going on in life right now to enjoy it.

I will return to the Buell world again in the future when Erik makes the AX available.

Thanks Chris,
I plan to treat it well and get plenty of use out of it.
Im also excited about how the AX model turns out, but Im not in the market for anything new. I am done with making payments on anything ever.

Im probably going to ditch the yellow for black bits, and color the wheels silver, not sure just yet.

Fotoguzzi,
If you're asking me, the answer is no. The side bags mount in two different ways. The small bags mount in the rear and the large bags in the front. So the racks have the tabs in the corresponding locations. I have two sets of racks.

The top cases are interchangeable on the same rack.

"Im probably going to ditch the yellow for black bits"

I'm going to be selling "black bits" if you're interested. PM me if so, otherwise they'll go to Ebay.

By the way, the top case rack should be the same for the Juniors as well as the Journeys. Edit: I see you said as much...

The outdoorsman racks (smaller bags) are located further rearward than the journey bag racks. This additional space in addition to the rearward latching allows most of the bags made by Hepco & Becker to fit on it, including the journeys.

The outdoorsman racks are still available at Harley last time I checked, you can get those racks and pick from a wide variety of aftermarket bags.

If you have existing journey racks, you only need the left and right outdoorsman hoops, the rest of it is the same, or so I have been told
I am scouring the net for a set of clean moto guzzi cases , they are the 40l juniors, and sometimes cheap
