2009 1125CR, 3400 miles on it, when throttling - accelerating hard the bike in 3rd at about 55 there is a stumble, just cuts out. Can get it to do this pretty regularly. But when drive it easy no stumble. |

This is due to what is called the intake solenoid, it is a EPA emissions thing. It is completely intentional, but is easy to defeat. My recommended fix is to get a Race ECM from Erik Buell Racing, it is $300, but it improves the fuel mapping, fuel economy, runs smoother, and starts easier, in addition to bypassing all the EPA restrictions. The cheapo fix is to simply disconnect the intake solenoid from the throttlebody. Remove the entire airbox assembly, you will see the solenoid attached to the frame near the seat, follow the cable, disconnect from throttle body, and re-assemble. There is a good guide with pictures here: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/490767.html He goes beyond disconnecting it, when you totally remove it like he did, you will need to get a special resistor so you don't get a check engine light. |
