So, my son came over to check out Mom's new bike...he put the petcock on reserve, and started the bike...it ran for a couple minutes and then died. Is there any chance at all by switching it to reserve could have mucked it up? You know, like if there was crapp in the bottom of the tank or something...I haven't had one of these petcocks out, so I'm not familiar with it's construction, or where the reserve fuel is pulled from... I also don't know if my battery is fully charged...gonna put it on charger, just wanted to ask about the petcock... Edit: To clarify, it tried to start..runs for 3-4 seconds, and then dies. It does not go into high idle, like normal...turns over maybe a couple dozen cycles, and then quits. Thanks. (Message edited by RunsAtZombies on November 05, 2014) |

Could be the reserve is fubared - does it work on the regular side? I had a petcock that would not work on regular side, only on reserve - seems like a simular problem - replace petcock. EZ |

My blast and m2 don't like the reserve setting so probably some trash in them I am too lazy to clean out (b/c I hate getting gas on my hands). Typically I fill up every 100-150 miles (see lazy note above). I will say when it gets close and the engine cuts off there is a bit of panic. Robert |
