So, in the morning when I go to work I take the highway and get up to about 60-70mph. After a bit of riding both my check engine light and battery light come on. It is not an everyday thing and it's about 37 degrees out in the morning. It seems like it's not getting fuel to the engine properly or something because it seems like it's having trouble staying at that speed. Maybe a bad fuel pump? Sorry if this is kind of confusing, but can anyone shed some light on this situation? |

Welcome to the board. First thing you should do is check the codes to see which ones trigged it, and then proceed from there. To get into diagnostic mode, hold down MODE and TOGGLE on the gauge cluster, then turn the key to ON. From there you can tab through the settings till it shows you the current and historic codes. Just a shot in the dark, it could be a failing battery or possibly the stator, given that you were also getting the battery light. |

thanks, I had looked into it before and it was leaning towards the stator. Thank you for the information. |

Check your battery connections for tightness. |

check your volts from stator AC 35 to 40v at 3000 RPM connect voltmeter across stator connector terminals 1-2 then 2-3 then 1-3 also disconnect voltage regulator. ON an 08 I will bet your stator is good. If good might be a bad regulator. (Message edited by dennis c on November 25, 2014) |

Honestly I think it was the battery connections cause I tightened it yesterday just in case and I haven't had the issue since.. thank you guys for all your input, I'll still check the stator though just in case. |
