Finished my first oil and primary oil chg on the X8 last night. The engine chip plug had just a small amount of fuzz, but the primary one looked like a cauliflower! The thing shifts and works great so I have to wonder if this is just normal wear?? I also adjusted the primary and that quietd things down too. I went with the Mobil 1 and Mobil 1 gear oil in the primary. So far, so good! |

Yes, there is alot of "flash" on the gear teeth. Your engine has a filter that your primary doesn't, so all that flash ends up floating around the primary. |

When I did mine this last time (third at about 7700) the deposits for the primary looked like a cone as large at the big end as the bolt and about 1/4" tall. |
