Author Message   Minitrucker Posted on Wednesday, September 15, 2004 - 11:40 pm:        I've got 10.5K miles and am now getting a vibe in the front end when lightly and under hard braking? also, I still have the factory pads...Could the rotor be warped? ...and if so, are they "turnable" like a car rotor?<---Prolly a dumb question.... Loosen all the bolts, torque down the capnut first, then the fork clamp bolts (see the service manual). This helped cure a vibration (back and forth) on my XB almost completely. I am going to do the procedure again to see if I can get it to go away completely. Third set of pads. The third set I installed two weeks ago. Rodi, let me take a look at 'em and I'll let you know. Tires can make the front end shake also, if you're still on the same set as I saw last time, I'd be willing to bet that's a big part of the problem. Brakes are probably ready to be changed just because of where we like to ride and how... I only use the rears a little. Should I change the wheel bearings? 8k miles.   Xb9er Posted on Thursday, September 16, 2004 - 11:13 pm:        If you have the old, unsafe wheel bearings (black seals), they were "recalled" and the dealer should replace them for free. The upgraded bearings have orange seals. Mike.
