im about to start - will a 1 & 1/16 or a 1 & 1/8" socket work on the crank nut? i can get a 12 point 28mm at o'reilly auto parts, but would rather have a six point with the high torque numbers ive seen... your thoughts? dean 615 545 1111 texts ok |

Once you get that big, you don't even really need the right sized socket, much less a 6 point versus a 12 point. You aren't going to strip anything, there is a BUNCH of flat still being engaged even on a 12 point socket. Once they get that big I wonder why they even bother to distinguish between metric and SAE. Pick the bigger closest of the two at every point and sell one socket with both sizes stamped on it. |

It is a right hand thread on the 08 xb12...the crankshaft bolt has a 13/16" head . Dean |

After you remove the inner snap ring, the clutch basket nut is LEFT hand threads. Dean |
