Guess the original battery in my 06 wasn't "that" dead after all. Replaced it a couple weeks ago, and I still get random trip odometer resets between rides. Today pushing it out of the garage, I noticed a couple of tach needle jumps as I turned the bars - bike off. Never skips while running. Guess I get to dive into the steering head bundle to find the broken wire...grrrr..... |

It's a nice relaxing job Rat. Get a nice stool, take out a few screws, and put on some good music, you will find it in no time. |

I'm not worried. The beer fridge is in arms reach of the Handy lift I just wonder how much longer my OEM battery could have gone. |

I kept my old battery and cycled it through a bunch of battery conditioner (a better one) cycles until it was working fairly well again. Then I bought a 1978 KZ-400 in a bucket, ripped a bunch of parts off of it (or rather, didn't put them back in when I rebuilt it from pieces), and made a custom battery tray for the old Buell battery. It may be weak for a Uly, but it can spin that little 400cc parallel twin fast enough to put the bike in low earth orbit. You don't have an extra battery, you have a project waiting to happen. |

Oh you poor poor man! It is so obvious you've become totally devastated! I tell ya! Finally you got enough miles on it to need to fix something!!! If you want to make it ride like new again replace the front isolator if you haven't done it yet. And lube those heim joints! |

And add some flux capacitor fluid. |
