Hey Yall, So I know this should probably be under the Stator/Rotor thread but...I have found a place here in Tucson, AZ who rewound my stator with 16 A poly coated 240 C wire for an astounding 100$. The gentleman's name is Fernando and he has been rewinding for over 30 years! He did an amazing job, took his time, did the research on our stator issue, and made sure that it was done correct!!! Ill post some pics later. But long story short, I talked to him and he said that if anyone needs this service it will be 100$ for rewind plus shipping. It took him 4 days so not too bad of turn around. All in all, Fernando might be one of the nicest gents I've ever met, so polite and helpful. PM me if you want his Info. |

Hey thanks for sharing man. It's nice to have options when that kind of job comes up. |

There's a thread in the stator/rotor subforum asking for a directory of options, you should post this up there. |

Believe me, I've let him know that there are plenty of people looking for this service. Does it matter that I put PM me? I just put what he had asked me to do. I was unaware of the contact thread that people posted above. I will be posting it today so you will not have to go through me. I am just posting this because he did good work and is willing to do more. I hope that clarifies why I put PM me... |

stator rewind
I think the the black on the # 1 pic is left over burnt part of the old stator it does not hurt any thing. it has a clear coating on it. |

Is there no epoxy coating applied to the stator after the rewind? Isn't this required to forestall vibration related damage? |

If anyone needs a core, I got a '09 stator that I removed from my 1125CR that's just taking up space in my garage. PM me if interested, 1313 |

There is a clear coating you can can see it on the metal part in the center of the stator . I think it be better to have a thin coating than a thick because the thin would trap and hold less heat my guess. Just so it keeps the wires from moving. |

Just received my rewound stator back from Fernando. He used the high temp wire and the workmanship seems top notch. Here is a close up of the windings and you can clearly see a thin layer of epoxy on the windings.

Hey here is Fernando's contact info. Phone number: 520-360-7142 He will also do a heavier gauge with a few less turns and that seems to work great for me in the Tucson heat. As I said before, he does amazing work and the quality is great! |

Has anyone recently tried reaching out to this person to see if they are still rewinding? How does he take payment, etc. Any warranty? Or just take it and leave it? |
