i bought the bike this year with 1800 miles it has a problem with staying running it seems that the battery keeps dying checked the VR with a meter at 4,000 rpms and i did see the volts go up but i haven't rode long distances yet because i was driving and the gauges went out it sputtered and died. bike runs fine at an idle would this be my stator? and please give detailed instructions on how to check. also the bike hasn't been ran in about two years which oil should i be using? and should i do anything with the cooling system. also service engine light is on
