Hey guys. I just picked up this 2010 1125R with only 819 original miles on it. I've heard of a EBR stator swap and I know of the upgraded flywheel with oil passage to help aid in cooling. Any more info on the stator swap?

Now that's a nice looking R! |

No such thing as "EBR stator swap", only the modified rotor cup. Given the low mileage your stator is likely fine, swap that rotor in, and enjoy http://www.erikbuellracing.com/store/2009-2010-cha rging-system-rotor-modification.html |

I know about the flywheel upgrade. I just want to fix an issue before it happens. I knew about the stator issues upon buying it. |

what Froggy was saying IS the fix for the stator issue. the EBR rotor keeps the stator temp cooler, hence preventing future failures. Nice bike

Flywheel upgrade? Never heard of it. You must be thinking of the rotor exchange. |

Rotor=Flywheel in this application. |

Good looking bike! I just did the stator on mine, and helped PNW Uly do his (he helped with mine as well). If you look in the Stator thread area you can find mine. Might be some helpful info. Congrats and GL! Rob |

I just want to prevent it before it happens. So far I love it but I want to change the front end up. |

Changing the regulator will extend the life of the stator as well. The CE605SB is supposed to help the stator run cooler by not sending excess voltage to ground. The only downfall is it need air flow. Here is where I put mine.

I'll look into that regulator as well. I just don't want to have any issues with it down the road lol. |

Channing - what do you mean by "change the front up"? Besides the EBR oil mod'd rotor/flywheel to help cool the stator, a better rewind like the hotshot stator or a custom rewind w/ the higher temp wire and sealants should definitely help. And since excess voltage usually gets dumped as heat - i really think my HID's helped mine last as long as it did in stock form. Gave it somewhere to go and got some extra light output to boot! Folks smarter than i may say that's not how it works, but it makes sense to me. I have the DDM 55w HID's (3k color/yellow tint) - a bit of a pain to fit neatly, but AWESOME output and visibility (especially in rain). GL! |

HID upgrade on my low beams is so great I don't bother using highs. I went for 4500k, which is the color with the most output. |
