I'm selling my 1998 S1 White Lightning. This bike has just been fully rebuilt from the frame up. I bought the bike last summer and have spent hundreds of hours since then tearing the bike apart and meticulously rebuilding it. Every known problem has been addressed including: updated oil pump gear, updated crank seal, 9 plate barnett carbon fiber clutch, new front and rear isolators, new stator, cometic gaskets, new brake pads, integrated led tail light, led turn signals, and brand new Dunlop RoadSmart II's with less than 500 miles on them. The frame was professionally powdercoated pearl white, and the cam cover was cut and powdercoated with the primary cover matte black. The stock front motor mount prone to breaking was replaced with a bullet proof billet mount to eliminate any future issues. It also has a force exhaust, forcewinder intake, Banke billet shift assembly, Banke Billet Brake assembly, and CRG blindsight mirrors. I have also replaced the stock swingarm with a cast aluminum X1 swingarm. The recall was still open on the stock shock, so I took it in to Hal's Harley Davidson/EBR in New Berlin to have a brand new shock put on. I have spent countless hours making sure I addressed every potential problem that these bikes have had. I also have the stock carbon fiber fender, an extra drive belt, and some extra spare parts. This bike really rips, it is an absolute blast to ride, and has a whole different feel (and power band) than any other sport bike ever built. There is a lot of love and thousands of dollars put into this bike, its not perfect, but you will never find another one like it. I have it listed on Craigslist a little higher because I expect low ball offers on there. I would like to see $4,500 but I'm open to reasonable offers. If you would like to see more pictures of the bike now or pictures before/during the rebuild, feel free to call, text, or email me. I am more than willing to send pictures or set up a time to check it out! Thanks for looking! Kevin, I commend you for working through such an extensive and exhaustive project. I hope someone appreciates the work which you have done enough to reward you for the undertaking. It sounds like it was a lot of fun too. Was the bike in poor condition when you decided to do the reconstruction or was this the objective from the onset? Either way, nice bike, and it's good to know that another tuber has been saved. Good luck with the sale! Buck |

Buck, Thank you for the kind remarks, I really appreciate it! When I bought the bike it was in ok cosmetic condition, but didnt run. The voltage regulator was shot, the carb was all varnished over from having gas in it(it sat in storage for 8 years),the jetting was way off from adding the exhaust and intake, and almost none of the known issues had been taken care of. I got it running, then started the rebuild immediately after. The intent was never to sell it, I honestly didnt think I would ever sell it. That is the reason I paid such close attention to every detail, I wanted this to be a bike I would ride for years to come. The goal was to finish the build and have no worries, I wanted to be able to ride this thing like crazy and never have to worry about it. But after getting it back on the road, I just didnt have the connection I felt I should have. It is a kick ass bike, and deserves someone that will fully appreciate it. With what I have into this bike, the price listed is damn near break even for me. The Buell (and Badweb) community is absolutely incredible; Buell owners are some of the most passionate people I have ever met. That is why I want to make sure this bike finds a good home. Thanks for looking! |

I am reducing my price to $4300, but this is damn what it cost to build. I would really like to sell this bike to someone that will ride the hell out of it like it deserves. Thanks for looking! |
